Early Learning Programs
It’s a time and place for new babies to drop in with their grown-ups to connect, to share, to learn from one another. The Family Place Coordinator and occasional guests, and other parents and babies will be there to welcome you. Babies (newborn – crawling) and their families.
This program is for parents with children who are crawling and up to age 3. The weekly group has on-site childminding. This childminding allows parents to be in the next room and enjoy a break where they can chat with other parents. Lunch is provided. There are informational topics and guest speakers from the community. One to one support is available.

A group for ALL members of the family raising a child under 6 years of age. This group offers healthy snacks, activities, peer support, support from the Family Navigator and New Beginnings worker, and much more!
Play with our toys! Socialize with other humans! This is a drop-in, free-range, self-directed playtime for young children and caregivers.
Join a librarian for 30 minutes of live-action storytime fun. We’ll shake our shakers, wave our scarves, meet neat puppets, guess what’s in the magic box, sing songs, and, of course read an excellent book or two. This is a drop-in program for toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers.

A group for mothers and their children 0 – 6 years old. This group offers a light lunch, access to support and educational resources, an opportunity to network with other parents and interact in new and exciting ways with your children.

Strong start is a free drop-in program open to all children from birth to kindergarten and their parents/caregivers. It allows parents and children to participate in a variety of early learning activities to help children learn and grow. The program is hosted every Tuesday and Thursday starting April 8th, 2021 from 12:30pm – 1:30pm at the Homalco Portable located at 1381 Bute Crescent, Campbell River, BC. Currently, there are COVID protocols in place until further notice. To register, please contact Julie Toews at 250-923-0735 or julie.toews@sd72.bca.ca and bring ID for the child on the first day.

FREE – It’s playtime for preschoolers (walking – 5-year-olds) and their grown-ups. The gyms are full of riding toys, tumbling mats, balls, climbers and more. Parents are responsible for their children during the program.
