Free Books, Toothbrushes and Much More
The Children’s Health Fair is a fun, family event and a great opportunity for parents/caregivers and children to spend time together, while meeting local experts on child development. This year, we’re launching “Healthy Recipes”; a bag that contains information on child development and “recipe” cards that have fun interactive activities for children; songs, games and much more. Each family who attends will be given one of these reusable bags. Thanks to Credit Unions of BC that made this initiative possible and to First Credit Union for providing support.
At the fair, parents/grandparents/caregivers can pick the professionals’ brains with common questions; a few answers from a knowledgeable professional can relieve fears that a parent may have. This year the event is holding the first community universal screening clinic based on the “Ages and Stages” questionnaire. It is a tool used to take a look at a child’s development, and allows parents/caregivers to celebrate their child’s successes, and have any questions on their child’s development answered.
Families make their way through a number of centres, fun activities, speech and language, dental, vision, and hearing screening. Family Place will be on site with fun interactive activities, storytelling and a free healthy snack.
Gather up the family, your questions and join us on Friday February 26, 10 – 2 @ Robron Centre.
